Danbury Mint

Danbury Mint were founded in 1969 by Ted Stanley in Connecticut, USA; an office was opened in London in 1976. Danbury sell fine collectables direct to customers via magazine advertising, mailings and the internet.

In 1983 Danbury commissioned the major porcelain companies around the world to each design and produce a demitasse cup and saucer. The list included Rosenthal, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Royal Worcester, Spode, Aynsley, Haviland of Limoges and Noritake.

Danbury advertised the availability of the collection to the general public under a promotion entitled 'Cups & Saucers of the World's Great Porcelain Houses'. One cup and saucer was issued each month to customers who had signed up to receive the complete collection.
