Rosenthal Marks including 'U.S. Zone'

All Rosenthal marked 'U.S. Zone' was manufactured in the period 1946 to 1949.

At the end of World War II Germany was divided into 4 Occupation Zones for administrative purposes; these were known as the American Zone, British Zone, French Zone and the Soviet Zone. The American Zone primarily covered Southern Germany which included Bavaria and Hesse.

In 1949 the American, British and French Zones merged to form Federal Republic of Germany and the Soviet Zone became German Democratic Republic.
